Rebecca began and led the sustainability initiative at CO: creating guidelines that championed regenerative, recycled, organic, and natural fibers. From 2019 to 2022 she brought the collection from no eligible goods to the Winter 22 collection being 50% eligible for certifications including GRS, GOTS, FSC, BCI, RWS, GCS, Bluesign, OKEO TEX standard 100, + more. This included working with denim factories that recycle 100% of their waste water, mills that meet all requirements to be certified with "4sustainability" in accordance to the ZDHC and MRSL protocol, and leather tannery and factory partnerships that are Gold level LWG certified.

 

This focus led to the creation of Natural World: A collection made entirely from natural fibers, including Climate Beneficial wool sourced from California ranches practicing regenerative agriculture. After Natural World's launch she continued working with Rebecca Burgess of Fibershed and led CO as a founding member brand of C4: California Cotton and Climate Coalition that aims to bring together multiple Californian brands to support the efforts to grow and utilize local regenerative cotton.
